Asparagus with bacon, yum!
Delicious any way it comes, but with bacon & asparagus, this fondue is definitely not to be missed!
Asparagus and Bacon Fondue Ingredients
1 lb (or 450g) asparagus spears, steamed, drained & chopped
1/4 lb (or 115g) bacon rashers, cooked until crispy then crumbled
2 cups milk
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons all purpose flour
salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Asparagus and Bacon Fondue Directions
In a large pot over a medium heat, melt butter.
Gradually whisk in flour and continue whisking for 2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in milk.
Continue whisking until fondue thickens.
Stir in asparagus and bacon.
Stir in salt and black pepper, to taste.
Carefully pour into a fondue pot over a burner.
Enjoy immediately with cubed French or sourdough bread or vegetable crudité.
Serves: 4.
